Missions and Functions
• Establish security standards to safeguard the physical and logical integrity of information, databases, network infrastructure, and equipment.
• Develop a contingency plan to respond to potential failures that might require suspending normal system operations.
• Define, plan, and coordinate the management and implementation of technological infrastructure according to the organization's needs.
• Represent the Ministry in meetings, conferences, projects, plans, and programs related to the field.
• Collaborate with municipal, provincial, national, and international organizations to establish secure and efficient mechanisms for exchanging information.
• Coordinate actions related to the management of various data networks owned by the ministry.
• Coordinate actions related to the management of data centers owned by the ministry.
• Promote ongoing research and training in the development of new technologies in the field to assess their application within the Ministry.
• Advice the Directorate General of Informatics on issues related to new information technologies.
• Oversee and coordinate the proper functioning of the organization's technology-related areas.
• Facilitate the evaluation, management, and implementation of new technological infrastructures that enhance the functionality and versatility of the organization's missions and functions.
